Acupuncture/dry needling
An acupuncture needle is placed into a myofascial trigger point, causing a local twitch response (LTR aka muscle contracture) which activates endogenous opioids allowing the trigger point to dissipate, which is not how traditional acupuncture is supposed to relieve pain.
